Work is underway in developing the life cycle models for products commonly used in the showering process. The first models will include shampoos, conditioners and body washes. The life cycle models will reflect the market typical formulation, supply chain, use behavior and waste management practices in the United States with focus on other world regions as data and information is available. Similarly to the laundering process the largest area of impact to energy and water for these products occurs in the product use phase. These models will serve as the baselines from which all products within a product category can be compared using the TSC assessment framework. The final models will be reviewed and validated by an external LCA expert panel before being released to the public in the Spring.
