What is your role at The Sustainability Consortium (TSC)?
I lead the Food, Beverage, and Agriculture; Paper, Pulp, and Forestry; as well as the Clothing, Footwear, and Textiles Sector Working Groups. My work with TSC focuses on directing research projects and managing member relationships in order to develop the Sustainability Measurement and Reporting System (SMRS).
Has working with TSC been what you imagined it would be?
It has been much more than I imagined and I have learned so much. We have grown very quickly and it has been so exciting to be part of that. I knew that it was a global organization when I became involved and this has been one of the most rewarding parts of working with TSC. Meeting people from all over the world is fascinating. It has also been very rewarding to be part of an organization where one can really be a leader and contribute to the methods and the strategy of growing the organization and the content.
What is your favorite thing about working with TSC?
I enjoy working with a team that has similar passions and global perspectives. I also really enjoy the global approach of TSC and look forward to expanding into new areas of the world.
What do you wish for your line of business in the future?
I hope to continue to expand the work of and the participation in the sectors I lead. I would also like to help expand the implementation tools that we are developing and I’d like to help more organizations implement TSC’s work into their business systems.
What makes you passionate about this field of work, or this position,
with TSC?
TSC is a good idea. The members, especially, have taught me about how needed this effort is and the benefits to implementing this work throughout supply chains. There is a lot of extremely good research out there, as well as very effective industry initiatives, certifications, benchmarking tools, and industry reports. As a result of this body of knowledge, there is a need for practical tools that help this body of knowledge become part of the day-to-day decision-making across the supply chain. I envision TSC’s work as being a catalyst to incorporating consistent and scientific information into decision making about product sustainability.
What is the best advice you’ve ever received?

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not at work?
My husband and I like to walk our dogs, travel, and cook (he cooks, I eat). I enjoy spending time withfamily, doing yoga, knitting, reading fiction, and making photo albums about our travels.
