ARIZONA, USA, – August 27, 2013 –
Symphony Environmental USA, who specializes in developing and marketing a wide range of additives for use in plastic products and other environmental technologies and operates worldwide, has joined The Sustainability Consortium (TSC). Symphony Environmental will join TSC stakeholders who contribute improvement opportunities and life cycle hotspots regarding packaging, to the knowledge products that are being developed in the eight other working groups within The Sustainability Consortium.

The Packaging Working Group at TSC has retailers, manufacturers, suppliers, and non-government groups who are discussing making packaging more sustainable while also considering things such as consumers, functionality, and marketing of the product. “When discussing packaging sustainability, it is important to consider a large range of opportunities and how they affect the entire supply network. The Packaging Working Group works towards developing content and tools that consider the importance of the sustainability of packaging materials and design while also maintaining the integrity of the product and its purpose. We are excited to have Symphony Environmental join the packaging working group and contribute to these important discussions,” said Sarah Lewis, TSC Working Group Director.

“We have been interested in joining The Sustainability Consortium for some time as many of our colleagues and customers are members. Symphony USA is committed to being a contributor in the very important mission of protecting the environment for those generations who follow us. The opportunity to participate in the efforts of this recognized leadership organization is an exciting privilege,” said Tim Murtaugh, Chairman.

Since its launch in 2009, The Sustainability Consortium has identified over 500 improvement opportunities and 400 hotspots across nine working groups. Recently, The Sustainability Consortium has launched an office in China, making it the fourth global office. TSC staff, participants, and members will gather together for TSC’s 3rd Member Summit meeting October 9-11 at the Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center in Atlanta, Georgia.
