The Sustainability Consortium is seeking a Data Scientist with experience in environmental science/geography, and spatial/GIS applications to support the Commodity Mapping Program. This position will create models, maps, and spatial tools for prioritization and decision support for businesses, NGOs, and governments. The person in this position must have an education in or experience with sustainability issues. This position requires a self- driven, creative solution-maker that can conceptualize new problems and solutions and build global and regional data models. Must be able to apply data models to spatial applications based on evolving needs across multiple subjects related to the production and consumption of consumer goods (i.e. agriculture, forestry, deforestation, water scarcity, child labor, forced labor). The successful candidate will have an ability to interact with TSC members on calls, webinars, in-person meetings, and at conference presentations and should have the ability to communicate complex data science to non-experts. The successful candidate will be able to work on business timelines to produce high-quality deliverables to meet TSC member needs. This is a full-time, 12-month position with paid vacation and fringe benefits.
