Amanda joined The Sustainability Consortium in 2012 as a graduate research assistant. In her current role as Manager, Technical Development, her duties include harmonizing metrics, tools, and reporting systems across a number of agricultural initiatives; improving communication and data flow across the food supply chain; and leading research for the Food, Beverage, and Agriculture sector. Previously, she facilitated a national effort to develop standards for sustainable agriculture and played an instrumental role in engaging a wide range of agricultural interests in making commitments to sustainability. Amanda conducted her graduate education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she studied sustainability standards and metrics programs for U.S. agriculture, and at Iowa State University, where she explored how farmers' political preferences have changed over time. She also holds a Bachelor's degree in both Anthropology and Conservation Biology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Amanda grew up on a dairy farm and is committed to helping farmers navigate sustainability opportunities and challenges while also improving their livelihoods.
